TUVALU PAVILION

Simmetrico framed the Tuvalu Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai around a direct comparison: what visitors could experience and what climate change places at risk. Located in the Mobility District, “Paradise with a Heart” introduced the nine-island Polynesian nation through its language, hospitality, beaches, coral landscapes and lifestyle. The content then shifted to rising sea levels, extending the message from national survival to global responsibility. The Funafuti Conservation Area, marine biodiversity, mangroves, green sea turtles and underwater heritage demonstrated why environmental protection matters locally. Traditional crochet, pandanus garments and community values ensured that culture remained central to the climate narrative. Simmetrico developed the content structure and visual language, supported by targeted visitor-experience enhancements that made the transition from tourism to climate awareness clear and measured. The result presented Tuvalu as both a distinctive destination and an informed advocate for international environmental action.
