REPUBLIC OF COSTA RICA PAVLION

Costa Rica’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai unfolded through chapters that converted Pura Vida into a practical commitment to sustainability. Located in the Mobility District, the narrative began with the country’s people, landscapes and biodiversity, then moved beneath the surface to Cocos Island and the marine territory forming most of the national domain. Protected habitats and environmental stewardship established the basis for the official theme, “Committing to a Better Future.” The final chapters presented Costa Rica’s green transition, including conservation policies and an electricity system built largely on renewable resources. Simmetrico developed the content narrative and a vibrant visual language that made scientific, environmental and social information accessible, supported by targeted visitor-experience enhancements throughout the journey. The result connected Costa Rica’s internationally recognised identity with measurable environmental action, presenting national wellbeing, biodiversity protection and the green economy as parts of one coherent development model.
