NEPAL PAVILION

Simmetrico used the historical idea of a crossroads to structure the Nepal Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Located in the Mobility District, the experience connected ancient trade routes with the country’s ambition for sustainable growth. The content narrative moved between Mount Everest and Himalayan life, rural traditions represented by the doko basket and yak, and the metal craftsmanship of the karuwa vessel. Nepal’s spiritual and architectural heritage was introduced through Lumbini, Pashupatinath Temple and the three Durbar Squares of the Kathmandu Valley. These cultural assets supported a wider presentation of tourism, agriculture and exports, alongside opportunities in hydropower, freshwater management, cleaner public transport and greener urban development. Simmetrico’s visual language and targeted visitor-experience enhancements clarified the links between heritage, natural resources and economic priorities, presenting Nepal as a culturally significant destination working to convert its geographical and human potential into inclusive, sustainable growth.
