KYRGYZ REPUBLIC PAVILION

The Kyrgyz Republic Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai used nomadic heritage as the foundation for presenting contemporary national opportunity. In the Opportunity District, Simmetrico developed the content narrative and visual language with targeted visitor-experience enhancements. The storyline connected the Tien-Shan mountains and Silk Road heritage with yurts, felt production, Shyrdak carpets, oral traditions, hospitality and the World Nomad Games. These cultural references were balanced with agriculture, livestock, mining and precious-metal exports, alongside the High-Tech Park and a science-led innovation ecosystem. By organising extensive cultural, environmental and economic content into a coherent progression, Simmetrico showed how Kyrgyzstan’s resilient traditions continue to inform its identity while supporting enterprise and sustainable growth. The resulting interpretation aligned with the official theme, “Completely New Paths for the Future of Kyrgyzstan,” and received the BIE Bronze Award for Theme Interpretation among Opportunity District thematic pavilions.
