FERRARI WORLD
OPENING CEREMONY – ABU DHABI

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
28 October 2010

The Ferrari World at Abu Dhabi is the world’s first theme park dedicated to the Maranello Red and is also the world’s largest indoor amusement park.

Daniele Zambelli, working for Simmetrico, was in charge of the creative direction of the Abu Dhabi Ferrari World opening ceremony, an event jointly staged by Filmmaster Events Mea Dubai and by the Abu Dhabi-based Aldar company.

Simmetrico’s creative approach delivered an event of great emotional impact. The story transported viewers into a child’s imaginary world where, between the ocean depths and the starry sky, the prancing Ferrari horse was born. An emphasis on the values of tradition, elegance and power allowed Simmetrico to create a fusion between local culture and Enzo Ferrari’s dream.

The project was designed to take full advantage of the unique architecture of the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi venue, a structure designed by Benoy Architects, 45 meters high and with an external circumference of 2 200 meters, transformed for the event into an enormous opera theatre, with virtual set decorations projected on a 40- by 50-meter stage.

The original musical score for the ceremony was composed by Maestro Roberto Cacciapaglia, who also conducted live an orchestra of more than 40 musicians. The ceremony was attended by more than 2 000 guests, including 600 local and international VIPs.
