OPENING CEREMONY - JEDDAH

KAUST, or the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, is a university study centre created with the intent to help resolve environmental challenges by contributing to the international scientific research effort. The task of designing the Opening Ceremony was entrusted to Daniele Zambelli.
The interactive content was presented using the latest video technology and seven colossal mobile screens, measuring 71 by 15 meters in total.

More than 22,000 sqm of temporary set decoration structures were produced in England and transported to the event location. More than 450 technicians and specialists were employed in setting up the structures and the technical equipment.

The event had more than 3,500 attending guests, including 50 Heads of State, 30 Nobel laureates, 400 national and international journalists, and King Abdullah accompanied by the top Saudi Government officials.
